The Rose & Crown at Slaley, a Community Owned Pub, featured in "The Guardian, Travel" as one of "The Fifty Best Pubs in Britain". In the heart of rural Slaley village, some 5 miles south of Hexham, the building dates back to 1675, is Grade 2 listed and has a traditional bar, separate dining room and two Bed and Breakfast rooms. It has been providing services to locals and visitors for over 300 years.
You will receive a warm welcome from our Manager, Tracey, and her team, serving you with food freshly
cooked to order, complemented by a great selection
of real ales and wines. Our chef offers a
tasty menu selection with seasonal daily specials.
Traditional Sunday lunch is also served.
Whether you want to make us your base for
exploring the area or are simply looking for
somewhere nice to eat, we look forward to seeing
you at the Rose & Crown.
It is with great sadness that we announce the decision to cease our takeaway offer and so complete the closure of the Rose & Crown whilst the current Covid-19 continues.
The safety and well-being of our customers, staff and their families is paramount in this decision. This is not a decision that we have taken lightly, however we feel it is the right thing to do whilst the fight to control the virus continues throughout the country. We have put in place all measures we can to protect the business during this time. Our staff are vital to the success of the pub and are all now on Furlough and will be paid in line with the Government guidelines. We acknowledge their valued contribution to the success of the pub.
We will continue to monitor the situation and will open for business as soon as this can be safely achieved. We look forward to the return of our customers and staff and hope to see you all soon.
Thank you for your continued support and keep safe.
